About Me

I was born and raised in Munster, Indiana, right outside of Chicago. I attended DePaul University from 2005 to 2011 where I earned a B.S. in Interactive Media and a M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction.

I love music, technology, gadgets of all kinds, mobile phones, food, family, friends, automobiles, cooking, hiking, and living life. I love a lot of other things too but those are the first to come to mind at the moment.

I love HCI and user experience design because when done right, it can really make a difference in people’s lives and genuinely make them feel good. That in turn, makes me feel good.

I think we can learn a lot through thoughtful user research and a deep understanding of the psychology behind good design. With that knowledge in your arsenal, you’re well equipped to deliver a really meaningful user experience.

What I'm interested in these days

  • Mobile technology, all of it. Tablets, smartphones, car PCs, etc.
  • Persusasive design and mobile persuasion
  • Fixing the US healthcare system with UX
  • Rapid User Centered Design
  • Lean UX
  • Windows Phone 7, Windows 8, and Microsoft's strategy for brand and experience unification

I like to talk to people, especially about things I am passionate about. If you're interested in having a conversation over coffee or a cold IPA, please feel free to contact me on Twitter, Google Talk, or just send an e-mail. We can talk about technology, design, our favorite jazz, funk and soul records, or about good places to eat in Chicago. You pick the topic and we'll talk.
